New show coming up for July's First Friday (7/3/15) at the Tannery's Apricity Gallery and I've been asking everyone I know (and some I don't) to pose for my latest series of animal-hybrid portraits. This time I'm painting friends and acquaintances at work, or with the props or tools of their occupation (/hobby/profession/obsession) - think renaissance-era portraits of merchants or philosophers, but with animal heads and much more modern. Thus far I have brewers, a production artist, motorcycle mechanics (and riders), academics, teachers, house painters, woodworkers, chemists and chefs... I need more, and more variety! If you have a particularly interesting job or occupation... or maybe it's not at all interesting, but you've always wanted to see yourself with the head of a sloth (etc)... hit me up. All I need is to take several posed photographs of you either at work or with the tools of your trade, wearing what you usually wear when working. If you have an animal in mind, great - but not necessary, unless you're afraid of what I might choose instead. All models will get several prints of the finished painting to give to your mom or whoevs.
